Early Levin, Oxfrod Street

Levin was connected to Wellington and Palmerston by railway in 1886, with European settlement starting soon after.

Robert George Maberly emigrated from Dublin, Ireland, initially settling in Wellington (1938) where he met his wife Shirley Peacock. They settled in Levin and started a family.

Robert George Maberly (21/12/1915 - 30/7/2004) m. Shirley Peacock (12/8/1930 - 25/2/2020) in 1950 in Wellington.
He emigrated from Ireland, and was recorded on the Wellington electoral register (1938) before settling in Levin.
