Early Christchurch

Lyttleton, the port town of Christchurch named after the founder of the Canterbury Association, received the migrants sailing into Christchurch and the Canterbury farming plains from 1850 onwards.

Thomas Pearce Mably, his wife and 2 children emigrated to Christchurch from St Minver, Cornwall, in 1868.
